Today Nokia has issued a press release on Nokia 5140 coming in the second quarter 2004, which confirms our news of November. The device is said to be of two versions: the GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/1800/1900MHz for America and the 900/1800/1900MHz for Europe and Asia. Featured with Push-To-Talk services Nokia 5140 is equipped with the VGA-camera, built-in torch and compass, stereo FM-receiver. Nokia supplies a cover-like GPS receiver for those willing to escape and not get lost. With the Nokia Xpress-on GPS you can easily orient yourself and download maps (Nokia’s site will provide extra services), make routes and carry out statistics of dislocation.
Nokia 5140 has an anti-shock, dust- and waterproof cover. An integrated Fitness Coach application lets sportsmen keep the rhythm, control weight, endurance and calories.

There is the Nokia Fitness Monitor for scrupulous sportsmen that measures activity rate and calories consumption. The accessory gets connected with the phone through the IR. Nokia 5140 is said to be compatible with the Polar devices – Polar S625X Running Computer and S725 Cycling Monitor. Nokia plans to extend on its site Java-applications providing compatibility of the handset and accessories already in May.
The handset weighing 100 grams has 106.5x46.8x23.8 dimensions, supports GPRS Class 10 and EDGE Class 6, and works with Java MIDP 2.0-applications. A single charge provides up to 300 hours of standby mode or 5 hours of talks.
