How many of you are ready to buy a N-Gage ?

  • Just a question to users of this forum...
How many of you are ready to buy a N-Gage ?

    me=no
(because I don't need this product and prefer to wait for 6600 or SX1)

Did you read this? (use altavista to translate)

Sorry if I write in English but unfortunately I don't speak German... :(

  • I don't have any ambition at all to buy that N-Gage. Way too expensive for the features it has. Obviously the main difference to GB & co is the possibility of mobile network multiplayer gaming (beside the normal telephone functionality of course). Without flat rates and / or higher throughputs on the networks I don't see how anyone could afford playing online on a regular basis. An idea like that might be interesting in the future. But now? Besides, network console gaming hasn't even really kicked off on the stand-alone home market (PS2, X-Box) even though the hardware and infrastructure is a lot cheaper. ;)

One main key to a successful game console has always been the range and quality of offered games. Now there is no way to predict how that segment will develop. So it should be rather safe to wait until next year to see how the market develops. ;)

  • I think in the beginning the N-Gage price will be to high, like most Nokias.
But if the Price falls to an equal price like the GBASP it could be an interesting alternative.
And the most important thing is that there a many interesting games on the market.
Cause what should i do with an cool gadget, without great games.
I would prefer interesting multiplayer games over BT or over GPRS.

  • Well, it's an nice toy, isn't it? I won't buy one.

Finally it may be a nice idea, but I prefer a 6600. Gaming on a mobile is not so important to me. Online gaming via GPRS is far to expensive. And to do it via Bluetooth or IR you need someone around you with another N-Gage. But I'm sure there will be no one around, when I want to play a nice little game.

And when shall I use a N-Gage? At home I've got my PC. At work I havn't got so much time to play. In the car I have to do something differen't (finally I can do motorsport myself... ;) ). In a plane the cabin crew will start screaming when I unpack something that could be a phone (does the N-Gage have something like a flight-profile?). So only trains and buses are left. I go by train or bus about two or three time a year...

  • $ 299,- is not too much in my eyes.

When this price will come to germany, it could be a megaseller :top:

  • I guess the 299 $ is without a contract.
As a result it will cost about 50 - 100 Euro with a contract and that would be the absolut Christmas Seller.
I won't buy it coz i don't really use my cell phone for gaming, especially not online- or multiplayer gaming.

Another matter of fact is that every game should cost between 30 and 40 $. That's way to much (for me), but as everybody sees, kids buy psx or n64 games for the same prices, so why not for their mobile device.

Besides i think that there will be several ways of copying the games as soon as the device is published.
