What's new in Papyrus for S60 1.2.10
1. Fonts changing support for phones running Symbian OS 9.1
This has been a long way coming, and it's finally here. For all you OS 9.1 phones out there, you can now change the font that you are using with Papyrus. Papyrus also supports TTF fonts for a MUCH cleaner view of your calendar entries. To switch fonts go to Menu->Settings->Options->Font Type and choose the font that you desire.
You can install new fonts into the \resource\ directory on your OS 9.1 phone (and system\fonts on earlier phone models)
2. New "Import Contact Birthdays" feature
I've added a new feature called "Import Birthdays" which can be found under the "Settings->Options" menu.
This will create anniversary items from contacts' birthdays. And will add the contact's phone number (if one exists) to the Birthday's subject line, making it easy to call directly from the calendar entry, as shown in the screenshots.
I am sure that a lot of you guys could use this kind of feature for a PIM application and so by the request of prupert I've added this feature in.
3. New "Attendees" support
With this version comes the long awaited support for Attendees. You can add attendees to calendar entries through the "New/Edit Item" dialog.
Under the menu options "Attendees". This will open up the following dialog, allowing you to see the attendees that are already present in the calendar entry, and you can also add more attendees by selecting them from the list. This list is generated from the Contacts' database, and presents only those contacts that have e-mail addresses.
You can now also view attendees information on the "Item Details" dialog as preseneted in the screenshot, and a new icon ([attachment=15326:attendees_icon.jpg]) will appear on calendar entries that have attendees:
4. New "Date Picker" dialog
I've removed the old date picker dialog that was giving users trouble. The new date picker inherits from the Monthl View class.
I use Papyrus a lot myself, and I wanted to know, when selecting a date, what I have during that week/month - and so came the idea to make the date picker dialog look more like the Monthly View. The same shortcuts work here as well ("0" to toggle the quicklist for instance).
I hope you'll find it useful.
5. Enhanced "Monthly by Date" recurrence option
Using the new "Date Selector" type control, selecting monthly recurrence by date has never been easier. Simply click on the dates that you want the recurrence to happen. For instance, in the next screenshot the recurrence happens every month on the 5th, 7th, 19th and the 21st.
I think it's very handy, don't you?
