"Microsoft have officially broken the news that they will release the Xbox 360 console in 2 different package variations costing US$299 and US$399 each.
Microsoft staff have been quoted as saying that the Xbox 360 console will cost either $299 or $399 when it is launched this "holiday season."
The $299 version will come with the console, cables and 1 wired controller, but the $399 version will come with the 20GB hard-drive, a wireless controller, headset, ethernet cable and also a wireless remote control.
This confirms that even the "premium" version of the Xbox360 console will still be cheaper than the Sony PS3, which is expected to retail for over $399 when it is released."

Kleiner Tipp:
Bei wem die HiRes Videos nicht laufen, soll mal folgendes ausprobieren:
Media Player starten, Task Manager und dem WMP auf Priorität "Echtzeit" setzen. Dann laufen die Vids flüssig ab, man riskiert allerdings, dass andere offene Progs abschmieren.
Zum Preis:
Hatte auf 299 für das Value Pack gehofft, da ich aber ein HDTV habe und daher sowieso das HD Komponenten-Kabel brauche, kann ich mir auch gleich die Komplettvariante für 399 holen. Die Festplatte und den zweiten Controller für 60 € mehr nicht gleich mitzukaufen, wäre ja blödsinnig.
Ich finde die Preise äusserst human und angemessen. Wer sich allerdings das kleine Pack holt ist nicht mehr bei vollen Sinnen...

Habe sie heute live auf der GC in Leipzig gesehen..
Und ich glaube, wenn die X-Box 360 kommt, werde ich die ganze andere Konsolenhardware in die Tonne hauen..
ich seh für mich jetzt schon ein problem. Ich habe einen Samsung LCD mit DVI Eingang und bei der 360 ist ja ein Component HD AV Kabel dabei. Gibt es vielleicht dafür adapter von diesen 6 Kabeln auf einen DVI Stecker? Wie soll ich sonst ein vernünftiges Bild nachher auf den Fernseher bekommen?
