Hi
I am thinking of switching from my Psion MX5 Pro (the best non-multimedia PDA in the World) which I mainly use for business purpose (Text / Spreadsheet/ Meeting Minutes) and communication (different mail accounts, WAP, WEB and SMS) to a PPC device (either the new bluetooth IPAQ or Siemens Pocket LooX). Question now is PPC able to do the job as good as my Psion today to me and will give me all the new multimedia add-ons on top ? In detail I am looking to
- get my corporate E-Mail from LOtus Notes via GSM/GPRS
(will be done by IBM Mobile Connect I use for Symbian today and should do as I heard the job as well for PPC .. any experience with this software here ?
- get my appointments, to-do and personal addresses from Lotus Notes
- seamless integrate my contact details for use with e-mail, sms and dial up information by mobile phone from one contact entry
- get a link from appointment direct to address and telephone data
(enter call Müller and get telephone number from müller direct in the agenda file .. saves time not always switch to address and re-look for number to call at the time the appointment takes place
- run or export Notes document databases to the PDA (done on Psion with insync pro) as normal psion database
- use Lotus WOrdpro and 123 Docs on my PDA ( on psion it was easy drag and drop both from MS Office as well from Lotus Smartsuite in the file manager with automatic conversation into Psion EPOC format.
- work a lot with spreadsheets and need a big screen (on PPC landscape format)
How are the lotus formats supported by the PPC apps from Microsoft. Are they any document filters included ... or any other way of exchange ?
- use a quicken compatible software on PDA to track my travel expense and export to quicken 2002 on my Windows XP system.
- use a wap browser together with my Siemens S45 and GPRS in Germany
Thanks for help from all the experts here
