ZitatAlles anzeigenBeijing, China - Panasonic Mobile Communications Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd., today announced the development of the company's first mobile phone designed for use on Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) networks. The Panasonic Z800 utilizes the company's cutting edge third-generation (3G) telecommunications technology, which has been used in the Japanese market. Panasonic will unveil a prototype of the Z800 at PT/EXPO COMM CHINA 2004, Asia's largest telecommunications/IT industry event, which opens in Beijing today. Product launch of the Panasonic Z800 will be decided at a later date.
The Z800 features all the enjoyment and convenience of video communications from a 3G handset and the compactness of current 2.5G phones with a size of 100 cc (cubic centimeters). The Z800's 1.3 Megapixel CCD outer camera is equipped with an advanced auto-focusing function, a Panasonic's proprietary AV technology, allowing users to shoot finer still pictures and share them with friends and family members via multimedia messaging (MMS). Still and moving images shot from one of the Z800's two cameras can then be displayed on either the inner 2-inch, 65,000 color Thin Film Transistor (TFT) LCD display screen or the outer 56,000 color Supertwisted Nematic (STN) LCD sub-display screen.
The Z800 is equipped with a miniSD™ Card slot, enabling the Z800 to offer a large storage capacity in a compact body. Portability and versatility of the miniSD™ Card also allow users to share image files on other SD Card-enabled AV equipment.
The Z800 comes with built-in music download and player functions. Where local carriers offer accessible online services, users can enjoy their favorite music in a high-quality stereo sound on the go.
The new UMTS-based handset supports Bluetooth®, MMS, USB 2.0 and IrDA, allowing users to send photos and documents to a PC or MMS-enabled phone. Its Bluetooth® capability also allows wireless connectivity through a Bluetooth® hands-free headset.
The Z800, loaded with the latest technologies, will offer a new communications life style converging visual, music and mobility, particularly to fashion and style-sensitive users.
